PayPal Express Checkout

PayPal Express Checkout is an online wallet, accepted in more than 200 countries and over 25 currencies.

PayPal is a well-known and trusted online payment method, with over 203 million active accounts globally. PayPal offer Buyer & Seller Protection which inspires confidence and trust when customer's make a purchase decision.

By activating PayPal on your website you'll allow customers to purchase from you using either their existing PayPal account or a credit/debit card.

PayPal also allows customers to checkout straight from your website's basket page, meaning customers log into PayPal once and can check out without re-entering their password or payment details. This decreases the amount of time it takes for a customer to checkout on your website and so increases conversions.

We recommend that all our users offer the PayPal Checkout payment method on their websites. You can read more about the advantages of PayPal Checkout here.

Activating PayPal Checkout

If you don't already have a PayPal account, you can open one within a couple of minutes by clicking the 'connect with PayPal' button in your account. If you do have an account, you'll simply need to login to your PayPal account to proceed.

Within your account, select 'checkout' from the left menu and then 'payment gateway' and click the 'connect with PayPal' button (as indicated in the screenshot below).

Once clicked, you'll be prompted to either login to your existing PayPal account or create a new one. Once you've finished, you'll be returned to our platform.

If you don't already have a payment gateway (like WorldPay or SagePay) we'd advise you to use the PayPal Powered by Braintree payment gateway. PayPal Powered by Braintree will activate PayPal Express Checkout on your website, as well as allowing users to pay with a credit/debit card whilst on your website.
