Setting up the Facebook APP

The Facebook Shop APP allows you to create a tab within your Facebook page and list the products that you have for sale on your website, on the tab on your Facebook page.

This allows your users to browse your products whilst on Facebook. If they click a product to view more information or make a purchase, they'll be transferred through to your website to do so.

Once you've installed the Facebook APP in your account, you'll then be able to authenticate a link between your website and your Facebook page. Select 'settings' from the left menu and then 'Facebook'.

Click the 'connect with Facebook' button.

You will then be transferred through to Facebook and asked to sign into your account.

Next you'll be asked to authorise the APP to have access to your Facebook account. Click 'ok'.

You'll then be shown a confirmation page, click 'ok' on here too.

You'll then be transferred back to your account with us with a confirmation page.

The next step is to choose a Facebook page that you want to display your products on.

Click the 'choose your Facebook page' button and a modal window will appear.

Select the page and click the 'save changes' button.

Your Facebook page will now be connected with your account and ready to setup by following the instructions below.

Setting up the Facebook page tab

Our APP will create a new tab on your Facebook page.

The page tab can have a title and a large banner image shown at the top of the page.

Enter the page tab title, e.g. 'Shop' or 'Shop Online'.

Select the banner image, which should be 808px x 200px (width x height).

Next you'll need to choose which products you want to display on the page.

You can choose whther to show all your products on Facebook, or products from particular categories (using the drop down lists).

You can click the 'add another' button to keep adding categories.

The home page of your Facebook tab will contain all of the products in your account if you select 'yes' from the 'show all products on Facebook' tick box. If not, then beneath the category selection you'll be asked what category you want to use as the home page of your Facebook page tab.

Finally you'll be asked how many products you want to display per row on the page tab (either 3, 4 or 5) and how many rows of products to show per page (either 2, 3, 4 or 5).

When you've finished, please make sure you save your changes. You can then check your Facebook page to view the new tab that you have created.
